All about Bo's...

Concept...

Well it's not rocket science!!  Since the days of Terry Cloth table cloths and black painted walls I have thought workin' folks should have a decent place to go and have some good food at a reasonable cost.  Great service and a cold cocktail in a comfortable atmosphere.  A place that everyone feels like they belong whether they wear work boots or a suit (just be careful we have been know to cut off a tie or two).

This is what we strive for everyday...

Bo Todd decided to build a chain of pubs in 1994 and with partner David Will, started searching for locations in 1995.  The first - Pub & Billiards was opened in Lloydminster, Alberta in January of 1996.  In October of the same year Pub & Grill (Red Deer) was opened.  Then came Pub & Grill - Castledowns, Edmonton in November and Pub & Grill - Clareview, Edmonton in December.

1997 was spent refining the concept and working out all the kinks (yup that include some people).  In 1998 Pub & Grill expanded to Drumheller, Alberta (April), Lethbridge, Alberta (October) and Millwoods, Edmonton (October).  In the same year Castledowns, Edmonton was sold and the name changed to "Hank Snows"

In 1999 he chain was sold to Blackstrap Hospitality Corporation.  Bo sold his shares in the chain in exchange for a block of shares in Blackstrap (a publicly traded company).

In 2003 Bo designed, constructed and opened Roadhouse, Edmonton, Alberta, while President of The Group, with Blackstrap Hospitality Corporation.  In that same year Blackstrap bought Bo's block of shares and sold Pub & Grill, Red Deer, Alberta to Bo.

August 2004 we started construction on Bo's Bar & Grill, Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta.  This Bo's opened October 21, 2004.  This location included the addition of "True Blue Southern Bar BQ" to the menu.

In December of 2004 we started preparing for a renovation and expansion of the Red Deer store.  At 3:00am on January 1, 2005 we close for 6 1/2 days to renovate.  This also included the addition of "True Blue Southern Bar BQ" to the menu.

In July 2005 Bo's Bar & Grill, Jasper Avenue - Edmonton was closed.

Stay tuned for the "Rest of the Story"...

I have been advised by legal council that I should not use the name when telling the history of Bo's Bar & Grill.  I have therefore censored each reference.  Feel free to insert any name that you think might work.
