PETER DREAMS
Peter Dreams is the solo moniker of Peter Dreimanis, the co-founder and front
person of Juno Award winning rock + roll band July Talk.
Dreimanis has been recording his debut solo record through 2023, as his band
takes a brief break from touring. The songs are raw, intimate and honest, backed
by the spacious sonic environment of MOONRiiVR, a new project founded by two
established creators in the Toronto music community (Gavin Gardiner and
Champagne James Robertson).
Peter Dreams’ debut album will be released in early 2024 by Six Shooter Records.
MOONRIIVR's
debut album, Vol. 1, is a captivating journey into a distinctively out-of-time sonic universe. Created on an old analogue tape machine, the songs feature reverberating slide guitars, wonky string synths, and nimble percussive environments. Thematically diverse, the tracks range from reflections on everyday pleasures to meditations on world politics and climate change. Led by Gavin Gardiner (Juno-nominated front person of The Wooden Sky fame) and "Champagne" James Robertson, the ensemble stumbled upon something special during the early pandemic days. They joined forces with bassist Ben Whitely (The Weather Station, Basia Bulat, Julia Jacklin) and percussionist extraordinaire Lyle Molzan (Kathleen Edwards, Corb Lund), refining their sound at All Day Coconut studios. With a refreshing, magical creative process, MOONRIIVR draws from decades past while transcending the boundaries of any era.
